Tracy (Trace) is a cross-disciplinary, multimedia designer and researcher. She has worked in acrylics, charcoal, print, graphics, video, short stories, radio shows, recording studios, yoga studios, and bar bands, but has more recently been specializing in health communication.
Working with the team at the UC Davis Center for Design in the Public Interest (DiPi) and partners at the UC Davis Medical Center and Hill Country Clinic in rural Northern CA, she explored issues related to chronic pain and how pain patients negotiate doctor-patient relationships. Outpatient Radio, a community radio special featuring the stories of chronic pain patients, has received international recognition. Trace has gone on to conduct independent interview research on complex care programs in the rural North State, focused on the patient experience.
Currently in graduate school at UC Davis, Trace is pursing a double master's in the Design MFA program and the Community Development Graduate Group. Her research focuses on how people navigate online support systems when dealing with complex hormonal issues.
