Robin Hill is an artist whose work focuses on the intersection between drawing, photography, and sculpture. Her large-scale installations capture wayward moments of beauty while extending the life of the sculptural components she uses to generate photographic images in cyanotype. She teaches sculpture and drawing as well as special topics courses including The Miniature, Where Here Is: Site Specific Public Art, and Drawing Into Sculpture.
She is represented in New York by Lennon-Weinberg, Inc. Her work has been shown in New York at Flipside, Smack Mellon Studios, Pierogi, The Rotunda Gallery, The Sculpture Center, PS 1/MOMA, ES Van Dam, and the Workspace; in the Bay Area at Don Soker Gallery, Limn Gallery, the Richard L. Nelson Gallery, the Davis Art Center, the Crocker Museum, b. Sagata Garo Gallery, and the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art; in Los Angeles, at the Brewery Project; in Houston at Project Row Houses and Fotofest.
She is the recipient of two Pollock-Krasner Foundation Awards, two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships in Sculpture, a National Endowment for the Arts Sculpture Fellowship, and a Davis Humanities Institute Fellowship.
Her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Art Forum, Art In America, Arts, Art and Antiques, Review Magazine, the Village Voice, New York Magazine, the New Yorker and has been the subject of numerous catalog essays.
